The cover features Vine, with ripe grape clusters entwined in lush leaves. Originally designed in 1873 for a hand-printed wallpaper, the design reflects William Morris’ love of nature and its influence on the Arts and Crafts Movement. Gold-foil embossing bears Morris' famous words: “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”
To reflect the artistry behind the design, the cover is printed on a canvas-like material, which preserves the sketch lines and ink variations of the original.
The HON is a hardcover design already attached to the techo, with a one-page-per-day format as its main feature.
The contents are the same as the Hobonichi Techo Cousin book. The HON A5 size includes weekly pages which track a week in each two-page spread for easy planning and contain a handy time schedule.
The cover has been constructed as a light hardcover book with some give to it so it still bends.
The book uses thin and light yet durable Tomoe River paper. It's characterized by its ability to hold ink well and provide a smooth writing experience. The back of the techo contains bonus pages.
The English edition features standard favorites like My 100, Favorites, and the 365 Days Check-Off Sheet, alongside new additions like Phrases to Break That Writer’s Block, Hard-to-Translate Japanese Words, and the Hobonichi’s Neighborhood: Kanda/Jinbo-cho Map.
