The illustrations of Yumi Kitagishi, an illustrator gaining attention both in Japan and abroad, return this year on techo covers and stationery. Marking our fourth collaboration for the 2027 edition, alongside the familiar White Cat, many animals such as rabbits, squirrels, and swans make an appearance.
The sight of these animals living vibrantly, set against the backdrop of homes and villages, naturally makes you want to imagine the stories behind them. With the HON making its debut in this collaboration, you’ll find a wide variety of designs to choose from.
It’s a collection packed with adorable scenes of everyday life that feel just like a picture book, tempting you to take a quiet peek inside.
The cover has been constructed as a light hardcover book with some give to it so it still bends.
The book uses thin and light yet durable Tomoe River paper. It's characterized by its ability to hold ink well and provide a smooth writing experience.
The bookbinding on the HON has thread-stitch binding similar to the Hobonichi Techo books, so it opens 180 degrees onto the table. It stays flat even if you don’t hold it down. The back of the techo contains bonus pages.
The English edition features standard favorites like My 100, Favorites, and the 365 Days Check-Off Sheet, alongside new additions like Phrases to Break That Writer’s Block, Hard-to-Translate Japanese Words, and the Hobonichi’s Neighborhood: Kanda/Jinbo-cho Map.
